Do Not Die Like A Fool...
Abner was said to have died like a fool dies. David was shocked for such a warrior whose limbs were intact would be killed like that (2 Sam 3:33-34)
Who is a fool, and how do they die?
When you cannot differentiate between a friend and a foe, you are not better than a fool. You can suffer injury in his house. (Zach 13:6)
When you over-trust a reconciled enemy without caution, you may die like Abner in the hand of Joab.
When you think your armory is a fashion statement. When your Bible becomes a mere pillow than a meditation tool, and your tambourine is a musical instrument than a praise weapon. When the Ark of Covenant is to you a good luck charm than God's presence, you may not be better than a looser. (1 Sam 4:2-11)
When you underestimated the power of a subordinate, the knowledge of your students and protégées; and the possibility of rebounds by a defeated opponent, you may be positioned for a shocking defeat.
When you defeat Goliath but failed to decapitate him. Return for the re-kill of that giant lest he rises behind you, and you die like a fool.
When you refused to learn from your experience at the Gaza Motel, you will find yourself repeating same in the valley of Sorek with Delilah, and you may end up a bigger fool.
There's certainly no dignity in defeat. You were created a champ, born a winner, so why die like a fool?
Arise, and fight for your life, because it only takes the living to testify.

The Poison Within....
Poison is any substance that harmfully terminates the life of a
living thing. It's like a leakage in a tank of water, it takes out the
content in a gradual manner till it becomes empty.
Most poisons are usually ingested externally, but some are sadly generated from within, we call then toxins.
Just as toxins can be a by-product of nutritional ingestion, refusing to let go of offensive interrelationships can also create psychological toxins. This category of mental poison is also as harmful and debilitating as any other poisonous consumption.
Has anyone willingly or unconsciously offended your emotion? Have you been disappointed or mentally abused? Have you been beaten, battered, or had your personality demeaned? Was your self worth at some points in the past whittled by the conduct of a friend or partner? Have you expressed emotional desires to someone in your past but got a cold shoulder? Ruminating on these anomalies, and relating by them gradually creates a mental toxin in your psyche.
Once these toxins are formed, you begin to exhibit antisocial behaviors. You begin to expand the unknown zone of your Johari Window. Your level of misbehaviour gets noticeable, embarrassing your total personality and people around you.
Remedy, is to disentangle from the past; forgive the faults, forget the loss, and move into a better future. Remember, that your attachment to the past is the major reason why you have refused to go farther than you are today.

GIVE ME A DOUBLE PORTION
by Videt Polk and Rev. Bobby Burnett
1. Long ago in days of old, stood a man of God we're told,
As he talked to Elijah that day;
His request he did repeat, standing at Elijah's feet,
"A double portion" I can hear him say.
CHORUS:
Give me, Lord, a double portion, pour Thy Spirit on me,
Thru eyes of faith Thy wondrous works I can see,
But I need Thy helping hand, in this troubled, sinful land,
Give me, Lord, a double portion from Thee.
2. As Elijah stood that day, to Elisha he did say,
"Ask me what I shall do unto thee,"
And Elisha then replied, walking at Elijah's side,
"A double portion, let it fall on me."
CHORUS:
3. Lord, I always to Thee, pray, just for strength from day to day,
But I see there's so much to be done,
That I have to kneel anew and this favor ask of you,
A double portion -- this fight must be won.
CHORUS:

WHY SHOULD MY SOUL REST IN PEACE?
WHY SHOULD MY SOUL REST IN PEACE?
Something says to me that I need to sort
this statement and understand it better now, especially before it is said of
me!
“RIP”
As I begin to ponder on the meaning of
RIP and why it is being often used when someone passed on, I asked myself what
categpry of statement should this be?
A wish?
A Prayer?
Or A courtesy statement?
Whose soul can RIP? What does it take
for the soul to RIP?
If RIP is a wish, I can only wish wishes
are horses for real, so beggars can ride! But if it is a prayer, then the
“praying-mantis” should rule the world! However, if it is just a complementary
or courteous statement, no man should be offended because it would be a
worthless complement when said.
RIP has been so used in such a manner that
even if devils can die, men will still say RIP!
The fact may be that whoever you might
be, irrespective of the life lived, whether godly, religious, or you live an
atheistic life, we will still say RIP.
Religion and Intellects
It is read somewhere that out of every 5 Nigerian Christians, 3 are Pastors, 1 is 'sensing' the calling to ministry and the other 1 is seeking for miracles from the first 3.
This is not revival, this is the effect of lack of employment.
If we call it a revival, why then is crime on the increase? Because every historic revival reduced crime in the society since the criminals would have had an encounter with Jesus. So this can't be revival.
The reason why everyone is jumping into ministry in Nigeria should give us concerns. Religion has never developed any nation. So the rising of more religious leaders should not excite us.
In the next 20 years, Nigerians may not have 1 doctor for 50,000 people but will have 50,000 pastors for 1 person. Expatriates will take over our labour market while young Nigerians will be jumping from pulpit to pulpit across Africa looking for who to ask for a prophetic seed in exchange for a miracle.
We need to teach our young people that they can fulfill ministry while coding in a technological laboratory. We need to teach this generation that pursuing ministry should not stop them from pursuing a university degree or trade. We need to 'de-religionize' the mind of the average Nigerian. We need to do this speedily before we get to the point of justifying the conversion of hospitals to cathedrals, factories to prayer camps and colleges to prayer houses. We must teach this generation that God gave us a knee to pray and hands to work, mouth to preach and brain to create - not knee without hands, nor mouth without brains. We must hasten to remind this generation that we can still be apostles and still maintain a professional career. Paul is our witness.
If we get carried away with how our 10 year old is preaching while his Chinese age mate is building a robot, we might end up being re-colonized when Trump's son becomes the POTUS - because his then late father would have advised him to do so.
Let's not forget that the Master charged us to occupy until HE comes. Those who heard Him first hand never asked "occupy what, how, why and where" - can we be that peculiar generation that will ask these questions?
Religion and Religiosity should no longer drain our brain, it should train our brain. The blood of Jesus didn't wash our brains, it washed our sins.
Arise and be productive even if you have God's call.

ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME
ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME
Edward Perronet (1726–1792)
Edward
Perronet was not an easy person to get along with. After being a minister in
the Anglican Church for some time, he became fed up with what he felt was the
church’s “nonsense” and became a Methodist, joining up with the Wesleys (John
and Charles Wesley).
As
a Methodist he faced persecution on at least one occasion, “Edward Perronet was
thrown down and rolled in mud and mire,” as John Wesley recorded.
Perronet
soon broke with the Wesleys over the issue of who could administer the
sacraments.
He
joined a group called the Connexion but later broke with them as well. It was
as a minister of an independent church in Canterbury that he wrote this
majestic hymn.
Whether
Perronet intended the implication or not, the hymn points to the time all
believers in Christ—regardless of petty disagreements—will join together in a
celestial chorus.
ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME
All hail the
pow’r of Jesus’ name!
Let angels
prostrate fall;
Bring forth
the royal diadem,
And crown Him
Lord of all;
Bring forth
the royal diadem,
And crown Him
Lord of all!
Ye chosen
seed of Israel’s race,
Ye ransomed
from the fall,
Hail Him who
saves you by His grace,
And crown Him
Lord of all;
Hail Him who
saves you by His grace,
And crown Him
Lord of all!
Let ev’ry
kindred, ev’ry tribe,
On this
terrestrial ball,
To Him all
majesty ascribe,
And crown Him
Lord of all;
To Him all
majesty ascribe,
And crown Him
Lord of all!
O that with
yonder sacred throng
We at His
feet may fall!
We’ll join
the everlasting song,
And crown Him
Lord of all;
We’ll join
the everlasting song,
And crown Him
Lord of all!

ABIDE WITH ME
ABIDE WITH ME
Henry Francis Lyte (1793–1847)
Henry Lyte coined the phrase, “It is better to wear out than to rust out.” And Henry Lyte wore out when he was fifty-four years old, an obscure pastor who labored for twenty-three years in a poor church in a fishing village in Devonshire, England.
This hymn that was written shortly before his death was inspired by the words of the two disciples met by Jesus on the road to Emmaus: “Abide with us, [they said,] for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent” (Luke 24:29, KJV).
Note the fourth stanza, which carries such hope for the Christian. As Lyte wrote this, he knew he was dying of tuberculosis and asthma. It was “eventide” for him, darkness was deepening, and he felt very much alone. But he was not alone, and we are not alone even in our darkest times. Our Lord is with us, “the help of the helpless,” the one who never changes, our guide and security.
He will never leave us nor forsake us.
ABIDE WITH ME
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide!
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour;
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies;
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

WISDOM FOR THE "HELICOPTER PARENTS"
A man, an avid Gardener saw a small Butterfly laying few eggs in one of the pots in his garden. Since that day he looked at the egg with ever growing curiosity and eagerness. The egg started to move and shake a little. He was excited to see a new life coming up right in front of his eyes.
He spent hours watching the egg now. The egg started to expand and develop cracks. A tiny head and antennae started to come out ever so slowly. The man's excitement knew no bounds. He got his magnifying glasses and sat to watch the life and body of a pupa coming out.
He saw the struggle of the tender pupa and couldn't resist his urge to "HELP". He went and got a tender forceps to help the egg break, a nip here, a nip there to help the struggling life and the pupa was out. The man was ecstatic!
He waited now each day for the pupa to grow and fly like a beautiful butterfly, but alas that never happened. The larvae pupa had a oversized head and kept crawling along in the pot for the full 4 weeks and died!
Depressed the man went to his botanist friend and asked the reason. His friend told him the struggle to break out of the egg helps the larvae to send blood to its wings and the head push helps the head to remain small so that the tender wings can support it thru its 4 week life cycle. In his eagerness to help, the man destroyed a beautiful life!
Struggles help all of us, that's why a bit of effort goes a long way to develop our strength to face life's difficulties!
As parents, we sometimes go too far trying to help and protect our kids from life's harsh realities and disappointments. We don't want our kids to struggle like we did.
Harvard psychiatrist Dr. Dan Kindlon says that over-protected children are more likely to struggle in relationships and with challenges. We're sending our kids the message that they're not capable of helping themselves.
All parents pls take note.

LIVING 100% LIFE
When we die, our money remains in the bank... Yet,
when we are alive, we don't have enough money to spend. In reality, when we are
gone, there is still a lot of money not spent. One business tycoon in China
passed away. His widow, left with $1.9 billion in the bank, married his
chauffeur. His chauffeur said:- "All the while, I thought I was working
for my boss... it is only now, that I realize that my boss was all the time,
working for me!!!"
The cruel reality is: It is more important to live
longer than to have more wealth. So, we must strive to have a strong and
healthy body. It really doesn't matter who is working for who.
In a high end hand phone, 70% of the functions are
useless!
For an expensive car, 70% of the speed and gadgets are
not needed.
If you own a luxurious villa or mansion, 70% of the
space is usually not used or occupied.
How about your wardrobes of clothes? 70% of them are
not worn!
A whole life of work and earning... 70% is for other
people to spend.
So, we must protect and make full use of our 30%.
Go for medical check-ups even if not sick.
Drink more water, even if not thirsty.
Learn to let go, even if faced with grave problems.
Endeavour to give in, even if you are in the right.
Remain humble, even if you are very rich and powerful.
Learn to be contented, even if you are not rich.
Exercise your mind and body, even if you are very
busy.
Make time for people you care about
LIFE IS SHORT... ENJOY & LIVE LIFE TO THE
FULLEST!!!
HEALTH
Drink Plenty of water.
Eat Breakfast like a KING,
Lunch like a Prince &
Dinner like a beggar.

WHEN THE CHURCH IS NO MORE CONDUCIVE
When we can no longer differentiate a church from a social gathering, and all what we do in church is to just have fun.
When we can’t differentiate a choir from an harlot, and an usher is not different from a waiter.
When the church is no more conducive where shall we go?
When worship session in a church is just like a disco night and we cant differentiate a pastor from a comedian
When salvation message is no longer the order of the day but prosperity and entertainment message is now the core course.
When the church is no more conducive where shall we go?
When prayer warrior now have to go to tongue-speaking school for utterances, and deliverance and healing session is now like MTH 201 to be taught and learned.
When pastor have to pause for members to clap and shout during sermon in enthusiasm, and all what we now gain from preaching is now new vocabulary and word usage.
When the church is no more conducive where shall we go?
When the church of God is now an exhibition ground for the latest designer jackets and hats. And those new convert can no longer come to church for the fear of being inferior.
When the tithe and offering in church become the yard-stick for growth, and the little donations from the faithful member have to suffer for senior pastor’s birthday.
When the tithe and offering in church become the yard-stick for growth, and the little donations from the faithful member have to suffer for senior pastor’s birthday.
When the church is no more conducive where shall we go?
Where shall we go is the question right; But never a rhetoric one.
Where we can go is simply the feet of the old rugged cross to plead for the revival of the church of our Father. Because when Jesus shall appear to examine his church the question of “where to go” will never be an excuse.
Even the elect will not be excluded.
Watch!!!

Benefits of Drinking Lime Water
We have all heard it somewhere or the other that drinking warm water with the juice of one lemon, is beneficial for health. Here is delving into the reasons...
Helps your digestive system
Warm lime water on an empty stomach early in the morning helps stimulate the gastrointestinal tract. Digestion improves, heartburn is reduced and it helps in the process of elimination.
Detoxifies liver
Lemon juice has citric acid, which helps the enzymes to function better. It also stimulates the liver and aids in detoxification.
Works on your pH level
The acidity in our body can be harmful and lemon water can help reduce this. Though lemon has citric acid, the nutrients and minerals in it are alkaline in nature. Citric acid is not a strong acid and so, is easily removed from our bodies by elimination processes like perspiration. Lemon, however, stimulates the formation of calcium carbonate that neutralises other strong acids in the body. This is helpful, especially if your diet is heavy in proteins like meat and cheese. Experts say lemon can help change the pH balance of the blood and can also help in dealing with urinary tract infections.
Strengthens your immune system
All citrus foods are a storehouse of vitamin C. This vitamin is known to fight colds and is good for your immune system. Lemons also have potassium, which stimulates brain and nerve function and controls blood pressure.
Clears and freshens your skin
Experts say that vitamin C is great for youthful skin, because it helps in the production of collagen. Its antioxidants revive dull skin and keep it healthy. Warm lemon water removes toxins from the blood stream. Also, diluted lemon juice, when applied to blemishes, can actually help lighten them.
Battles bad breath
Lemon juice battles bad breath by keeping bacteria away.
Aids in weight loss
Lemon juice in the morning fights food craving. Also, it has been found earlier that people who maintain an alkaline diet tend to lose weight more quickly than others.
Do not overdo the lemon bit
Do not overdo the lemon. Just because one lemon helped you lose two kilos, squeezing four in your juice will not help you lose eight! Lemon has corrosive properties too and your tooth enamel may suffer.
Note to remember:
Adding a little honey to your lemon juice makes it more palatable and also battles phlegm and helps rid your body of mucous.
Never:
Use bottled lemon juice. Only the natural lemon is beneficial.
Always:
Rinse your mouth with plain water after you drink lemon juice.
